About the book:-

Victimology: tall, slim, blond hair, jeans. And a Harvest Festival t-shirt…

Finding the body of a young woman in Haldane Hill Park rings alarm bells for Detective Constable Holly Towns. But can she even say the words ‘serial killer’ and be taken seriously?

The media names him the Port Predator, and he’s not finished. Not even close.

Another young woman is missing, and time is running out.

Officers in the Criminal Investigations Unit are focused on a set of strong suspects, but Holly is drawn in another direction. The risks are high. She’ll be an outcast if she reveals her suspect, but someone could pay the ultimate price if she ignores her instincts.

Haldane Hill also holds a gruesome surprise for a mother and child walking on the beach nearby.

Holly confirms that the pair have stumbled upon skeletal human remains, a bleached skull and a nest of bones deep in a bank overlooking the lake. Should her next call be to the coroner or an archaeologist?

The CIU officers are pulled in multiple directions, and past and present become entangled.

As if that isn’t enough, Holly skirts a scandal within her own department, determined to prove her loyalty, even if she risks her own career.

If you like complex characters, twisty plots, and a fast-paced story, the Goodbye… series is for you.

My Review:-

This is the fourth book in the Port Almo series and they just get better and better as the characters develop. I’m pleased that the budding romance between Cavallo and Holly is still on track. Throw in a serial killer, some ancient remains and several suspects and you have the perfect recipe for a fast paced thriller. I am delighted to see that Shillolo has already started work on a fifth book in the series and am as excited to see how Holly and Cavallo get on as I am to read what new plot Shillolo comes up with.

About the author:-

Anne Shillolo

I love writing every day and the result so far is three mystery series, and counting. I’ve been retired from teaching for a couple of years, and am totally immersed in my new career as a mystery writer. I hope you enjoy the results!
The Murder In Season trilogy features injured detective constable Claire Beckett.
The longer Poodle Versus… series is a reader favorite. It features small-town action, zany characters, and a Nasty Small Poodle who will capture your heart.
This year I released several books following DC Holly Towns, starting with Goodbye Port Alma.
The Free Prequels to all my series are available on my website, AnneShillolo.com.

My name is Charlie B and I have lived in the South of France for over 30 years with my husband Phil. At present we share our house with 6 cats (all rescue), our parrot Arthur (she's a girl) and our tank of tropical fish. I have always loved reading and belong to a writing group and a book club. So that I wouldn't feel so guilty sitting around and reading all day I decided to set up a book blog.
